Checking out some SUVs. Geared more towards the Nissan Murano. Anyone in town has a relatively new one they can provide feedback on? Perhaps from a 2016 to 2018?

I say Honda or Toyota. Both very reliable, and long term vehicles. I have a Honda pilot, would never trade it in!  
 
I have owned Toyota's, very good vehicles, comparable to Honda.  
 
I'm not a fan of GM. Nothing but engine problems. Had one in the past and will never go back.

Love it! Never even considered one when I was looking. One came up on a private sale, took it for a test drive and bought it on the spot. It is older 2004. But it only had just over 100,000 km's, no dents, no rust.  
 
Gas mileage is exactly what it says on the internet site for Murano's. I did my mileage on a trip, but can't remember the numbers - but I do know I looked on the net and it was the same.  
 
Needed a new wiper back blade, could not just buy it at a store. Went to Nissan and they were great to deal with, even though I did not buy there.  
 
In fact, I was just looking at one on Kiji, posted today - 2014, 107,000 km's, $23,000.  
 
My friend has a Santa Fe and likes mine much better. Lots of leg room front and back. I do not like were the cup holders are in mine, but have looked at newer ones and they are in a better spot.  
 
My next vehicle, will be a Murano.

Thanks guys, but I don't like the look of the Toyota Highlander nor the Honda Pilot. They are nice I'm sure but not for me.

Are you looking for SUV 8 passenger? or a CUV 5 passenger?  
 
Nissan Murano is considered a CUV now, not an SUV

Don't buy new, that will cost you 25% depreciation in the first year.  
 
Nissan? Hum? I spend a lot of time in wrecking yards. Nissans fill up the yards I am in.  
 
People ask me "What is a good car?". I go by what I do not see in wrecking yards. I do not see Toyotas. For every 30-40 Pathfinders, I will see one (1) 4Runner. That extends up and down the product line.  
 
That said, I knew a fella that badly injured his hip. He ended up buying what made his hip comfortable.

(Whom I no longer need now that I am driving "new") recommends Nissan as one of the more problem free vehicles. The Rogue would be my SUV of choice but my friend has a fairly new Murano (2017 ) and loves it. I will ask her for some specifics.

According to Getty, CUV is what I'm looking for. Don't need 7 or 8 passengers, just 5. I do like the exterior look of the Rogue better than the Murano but the Rogue is a 4 cylinder and only 170 horses.

Have you driven one to see how it handles?

Best car I’ve ever owned. Had a Sante FE first. It was an ok car. But the Murano is amazing. Great power, gas mileage, and I look damn good in it! Lol. Also the service department here in Brandon has been amazing to deal with.

you cannot compare Murano to Sante Fe. Murano has a V6 engine and Sante Fe doesn't. Ride and performance will be different

My 2016 Santa Fe XL is a 6 cylinder amd has plenty of power. Seats 7 comfortably and ride is very nice.

My current SUV has 275 horses. Don't wish to go way down to 170 and 4 cylinder. Plus, I don't like the Rogue interior.

The OP wants a 5 seater, not a 7 seater.  
Yes Sante Fe XL has a bigger engine. However it doesn't matter in what this thread is about. Sante Fe XL is considered a SUV. NOT a CUV.

IF you want a V6 5 passenger. The only options that I know of are Toyota Venza, Nissan Murano. Not sure what there is in domestic.

I own a 2017 Murano, upgraded from a Santa Fe as well.  
 
My 2017 Murano is by far my favourite vehicle I’ve ever owned (and I buy /upgrade every 3-4 years). I hope they are still making them when it’s time to upgrade because for the first time ever, I am willing to buy the same vehicle again. That’s never happened before.  
 
It has good horsepower, it’s sharp to look at, the seats are the most comfortable I have ever had. I have hip issues and long drives don’t bother me at all. Mileage is good, it blows good heat and the service at Nissan has been amazing.

Okay.. yes Murano would prob fit your needs for 5 passenger and a V6. It is a different transmission then others offer. Is is a CVT transmission. So you wont hear the gears change when driving and if you hit the gas all you will hear is a loud hum. It's something that you get used to after a while...

Hi, which trim do you have? How's the road noise? Any humming or CVT transmission noise on the hwy?

I have a Hyundai Santa Fe and I love it. However I am not a huge fan of the fuel mileage. So Defintely compare fuel Mileage to other vehicles.

I have the Platinum one, fully loaded to the nuts. I don’t notice any road noise so that must be a good thing. And no, no noise or hummin on the highway. You won’t notice the CVT transmission, you just get used to it and it has good kick. No complaints whatsoever. It’s a great vehicle.

I 've seen at least 2 newer models of Nissan Rogue sold here at ebrandon which were advertised as new factory installed transmission. So maybe Nissan has a transmission problem.

yes it's worthwhile to buy in Winnipeg. I have always said, Winnipeg will move on the price. In my case by thousands of dollars. You definitely need to know how to BARGAIN. If your a yes and no person, don't bother wasting your time in Winnipeg.  
 
Here you are expected to pay sticker, or if there are any incentives minus the sticker price. Then that's all you will get. Many dealers get offended when you make an offer on their vehicles. Whether it is new or used.

I'm also looking to buy an SUV, but lately been wondering about a mini-van instead. I heard they are cheaper to buy and to register.  
Sometimes, I can't even see much difference between the two.  
Anyone have an opinion on the subject they would like to share?
