How long did you wait on a special order vehicle?? As in the color and options you wanted weren’t on the lot, how long did you wait for delivery??

Best contact dealer regarding this but I believe 12-16 weeks is a typical average. May be longer right now if you plan to order a ford f150 or superduty due to a fire at a plant they source some parts from.

I agree ask the dealer even they might not know for sure but they will have a better idea then eBrandon. Depends if it is available on another dealers lot. How far away that dealer is. When the next truck is. Or maybe it needs to come from the manufacturer. Too many variables to say for sure.

They can probably go on the computer find one in inventory at another dealer with your color and options and have it in a couple days, best contact the dealer for availability.they will know how soon they can get one, unless its an oddball color option combo then you might have to order it from the factory, and that only the dealer can tell you but they like to sell the cars they have in stock so they might bullshit you.

From one experience it was a couple of months. But depending on the vehicle and production times and schedules you may not be able to order a specific vehicle at all. Unless it is really specific there is probably one on a lot somewhere that the dealer should be able to bring in.

If a dealer can find it what you want in Winnipeg, Regina or possibly Yorkton, maybe a day or two. They usually send a person (usually of retirement age) out to get that vehicle and drive it back. You may need a day after that for the vehicle to be cleaned up and for a mechanic to double check to make sure nothing was missed eg. other dealer not installing a block-heater cord, no damage to the vehicle etc.  
 
The 2019's are just showing up at most of the dealerships now in case one is wondering.

When I ordered my truck a couple years ago, the order to the factory went in January 27th and I drove it home May 13th.

within the next 10 days - local dealer didn't have the color or trim level we wanted and the closest dealer who had the car is in Swift Current - the local dealer could send 2 guys to pick up the car as they are not swapping a vehicle with the SC dealer but they would rather put it on an auto carrier so the vehicle doesn't arrive with 600+ km on it. Every car I've bought in the last 15 years had to come from another dealer - sometimes from Wpg but I've had a car delivered from as far away as Penticton. Of course, the dealer would like to sell me a vehicle they have in stock but all dealers seem to be amenable to bringing in the color and trim level we want. Off topic I know but I hope the doors stay ding free and scratch free for longer than a week this time.

Just remember if you order from the factory you should get a better deal; try a few dealers for best price and wait for it! If your dealer is getting it from another dealer -- both dealers are making money on your purchase --don't let them bullshit you!! If they are a good dealership you will get a better price when ordering from the factory due to the fact is that when you are ordering it is sold in the back door out the front door-easy money for the dealership! Thus even if you order a 2019 do so --you will get a better deal!!

It is a common practice to exchange vehicles. Both my cars were exchanged with another vehicle. However, they didn't drive it. They put the car on a truck and drove it into the dealership.
