Trying to decide what winter tires to buy- been looking at Michelin- Nokia- & Toyo observe- so confusing.What has anyone used that is a good winter tire does not have to be the ones I have mentioned.We do a fair amount of highway driving.

Been using nokian hakkapelita 9 SUV....... really impressed. The other tires you mentioned are very good as well specially the michelline x ice.

are the winter tires we use on one car that does the majority of highway driving. We have Nokian WR G4 tires on the other car year round (all-weather tires). I've used Blizzak tires for many years and have been very satisfied with their performance and wear. I have also been very satisfied with the Nokian tires - that car is mainly used for city driving.

Dunlop Wintermaxx are what I drive on, and they are excellent.

I recommend spending the extra money now while you buy the tires and getting a set of winter rims if you don't already have a separate set. You don't need anything fancy or expensive but it's so much easier when the winters have their own rims. It's just a fast, simple rotate to switch them out season to season. I am glad I did.

The nokian hakkapelita 9's are great. I just got studded ones put on my truck and while i havent had them in any snow or ice yet, from what i've been told and read, they will be excellent.  
 
Go to a tire shop and talk to someone and get their recommendations based on your budget.

All the tires mentioned are good tires. Depending on which size you need there are different options. For highway driving you want a slightly less aggressive tread and a rounded edge for a smoother, more quiet ride. Cheaper tires are an excellent choice for in town driving, but you give up ride quality on the highway. Don't worry too much about the brand name. As long as it's a well known , trusted brand, pick something that suits your driving style and is a good value. Keep in mind, most tire brands are offering some sort of mail in rebate this time of year. PM me if you need more info.

Another one for Bridgestone Blizzak WS80. Great tire. I believe the newer ones are WS90 now.  
Have had ws80 on my van, got the new ws90. Will see how they are. Have WS80 on my SUV for a few years now, not disappointed.  
Wear is excellent!  
 
I also have Michelin x-ice3 on my car, seems okay as well.

Nokian tiresat Kal Tire are the best tires for sure summer or winter

I third, or fourth, the Nokian Hakks.....I got the studded version. Hubby has them on his Dodge truck too.  
 
Best investment you can make, especially when you have to travel the awfully maintained Brandon streets in winter.  
 
I found on the icy ruts that form in January you don't slide off them. When morons pull in front of you and can't get going, you have the power to stop short or keep control if you have to drive around them.  
 
Yes, they are worth it.

Switched vehicles this year and not sure what or if I should buy winter tires for this one. Any recommendations for a 2020 KIA Sedona?

Get the cheapest tires you can get with studs. They'll perform better than the most expensive non-studded winter tires and studs are really good on black ice (or any ice) on the highway.

I would highly recommend the Nokian hakks they are by far the best winter tires I have ever ran! Not the cheapest but worth the investment! Plus Kal Tire offers In house financing and MPI program win win

We have used them too and they are very good.

In Friday's Free Press a tire expert recommends studded tires for anyone in Western Canada. He says studded tires stop 5 meters shorter than winter tires and 12 metres shorter than all season. He likes the Nokian factory studded tires which are a newer technology that are improved for less road noise and less wear on the pavement.
