Are you looking at bumper hitch or 5th wheel?
You need to know the GVW of trailer/truck.
The hitch has to be rated for what you are pulling, so does the truck. A lot of people go buy a camper that is too heavy for their truck or install too light of a hitch for the load because its cheaper. So first I would decide on the trailer you want and match the rest to it, or since you already have a truck, find your max GVW and get a hitch installed to match the maximum that it can pull. If you have a newer 3/4t or 1t truck a lot of them come with mounts pre installed for 5th wheel hitch, and all you have to do is pull rubber plugs out of floor of bed and hitch locks n to existing holes.
As far as places to install a hitch Lens Alternative RV, or any dealer know what they are doing. Don't cheap out because if something fails you will be along for the ride.
