Brand new 2022 Ram 1500 with factory trailer brake controller. Trailer brakes cut out at 25 km/hr when reducing speed with the foot brake. It’s not a time issue as it doesn’t matter if you are slowing down from 100 km/hr or slowing down from 50 km/hr. The trailer brakes cut out at 25km/hr.  
But the hand control for the trailer brakes seem to work at any speed.  
I have read on Ram forum that others have had this issue but not sure if they found a solution? Seems like a program issue.

1 dealership says that’s so you get a softer stop. My answer to that “haha really? I don’t think so as that’s not safe.”  
The guy who said that isn’t the one trying to stop.

Trailer brakes are annoying at slow speeds. They are also noisy then. It would make sense that they cut out at such a slow speed when you don’t need much stopping power.

No. It’s not safe. You need the stopping power at all speeds when you’re pulling 9000 lbs.  
My 2018 didn’t do this.
