My two cents:

I have a 2014 sierra 5.3, added a Range AFM 'delete'. It's about $300, but from what I've read, way better than any cheap model online. Range has the latest tune setup on them, which is safer for how it runs. Use a cheaper model, and you run risks. These tuners apparently also keep the transmission in tune to the engine when it runs 8 cylinder all the time, which is why you don't want to fool around with a questionable model. Most people will say it isn't a true 'delete' as you'd need to do a swap of some engine components, but hey, not everyone works in the rigs, so dropping 5 grand isn't ideal for everyone, so these AFM deletes are a great second option. You could also get a true tuner kit for for truck and that should have AFM delete on it as well, plus some other neat options. In either case though, you'd lose use of the OBD2 port, as these plug into them. A very minor detail though, unless you have a throttle/pedal commander. I'd also suggest an air/oil separator, as many of these engines are gdi, which can lead to sludge buildup on valves. Some people say they don't need them, but everyone has a different thoughts about them. In either case, a little prevention goes a long way towards keeping a truck running well. I'm thinking of eventually adding the updated engine thermostat and housing (aluminum vs stock plastic housing), so the thermo opens at 160, instead of 180, but that also involves finding someone to tune the fans switch at lower temp. I also already have update the transmission thermostat so it cools sooner than stock 190 too. Great, since I tow a lot.
