I think something is wrong with my transmission of a '97 Malibu V6 3.0L. It has been accelerating while in drive, but also stalls out when i slow down. Jumps forward or something of the sort when i switch from park or reverse to Drive!!...while at timmies drive thru, i put in in low gear (1) and it did not try stall or jump forward, but obviously can't drive like that thru town!  
 
Any recommendations from car buffs of where to take for an estimate or a look-see???? I am low-income and can afford big $$$$ toward a large repair, so i would like some knowledge going into this....so i don't get taken for a ride!!!  
 
 
PS i can't even find the dipstick to even check fluid for that transmission fluid...I can usually spot them...but not this time!
