Chevrolet Malibu opinions

How are they? Any problems? I have been reading about problems with the electric power steering, anyone have those problems? I was considering the Malibu but now I don't know.
I'm currently looking for a newer car.
4 door, $10,000 and below, mid-sized
What are your opinions on Grand Prix's and Impala's?
