HELP!!! Pontiac Torrant Hatchback Struts
11/30/2010 at 11:01 PM
So, last winter i had to replace the struts on my 2007 Pontiac Torrant's hatchback as they quit working in the cold weather. Well... now that the cold weather has hit again, i am having the same problem. I called the dealer where i had them replaced last year (under my vehicle warranty) and asked if they had any warranty on the part. He said "no" and each strut would cost $120 plus labor (my vehicle warranty has run out).
Am wondering if anyone has any suggestions to remedy this as i do not want to replace these every winter. Is there a different strut that can be used that is better at withstanding the cold temperatures? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cant afford to do this every year... and it is very frustrating trying to load all of the christmas presents/groceries etc. into the hatchback while holding the heavy door so it doesnt come crashing down on my head lol.
