First of all...

Figure out what you want. When we were in the market for a car, and later a truck, we sat down and talked about the features we wanted. What was the most important, what we could bend on. We based it on vehicle usage, comfort and economy. No sense buying a vehicle you can't afford. Then we did research online for stats. fuel economy, recalls, safety features, price and even autopac costs. By the time we felt confident to start looking at vehicles, we had narrowed it down to 3. Then at least we didn't have to go all over the place listening to sales pitches until we didn't know our own names.
Don't be afraid to flex your research muscle. Check online first.. if you find the vehicle you want, but it's cheaper somewhere else...like wpg or dauphin...prove it to the dealership here...i saved $3000 on a car once cause i told them i would gladly go to wpg for the savings.
First place we went to got crossed off the list very quickly. Im very big on customer service. If they can't treat me the way i feel i should be treated before i buy the car...i don't have confidence they are gonna have after sales service. We ended up getting a Mazda 3 at Forman Mazda. and we have been incredibly happy with both the car and the dealership. For our truck, Murray's Chrysler for the Ram eco-diesel again, extreemely happy with service and vehicle there...i just wish oil changes were cheaper, lol.
