I say this with much sarcasm. On Saturday, between 7:40pm and 9:30pm, my vehicle was hit in the theatre parking lot leaving a huge dent in the rear quarter of my truck. I'm the guy that parks away from everyone else to avoid this crap but still people insist on parking close. It must have been a fairly large vehicle as to the height of the damage. I get that accidents happen...a note would have been appreciated.

most people dont leave notes now

because once you have my information you could easily cause more damage to your vehicle and blame the person on the note, even with pictures it would be your word against theirs, so they dont, either way you still have to pay your deductible

I've heard others complain about this as well, and when they call to report it to MPI, it turns out that the person had already called it in. Not everyone carries paper and pens in their car... at least I don't.

Not leaving a note is a hit and run, and would be a additional offence.

If it's a parked vehicle versus and moving vehicles, the moving vehicles driver is at fault. The only deductible kept by MPI is the at-fault driver. The innocent other driver would have their deductible reimbursed (if they paid it at all).

There is signage on the south side of the theatre stating there is cameras in the parking lot ! Check with the management

I was the victim of a parking lot hit and run just over two years ago and I paid absolutely nothing. Culprit was never identified.
