Haha, what a joke statement that is. JEEP is the biggest POS on the roads today. At our shop many complaints about water leaks, suspension, could go on and on. The Journey is not good not bad, the Gas mileage is pretty bad considering the engine size.  
 
Honda the last 4 years certainly has lost it's edge in build quality. Toyota must be living under a rock with ALL the issues last few years.  
 
Mercedes, BMW are absolute JUNK!

I owned a jeep and never had an issue! And it was a wrangler. I took care of it. I never went off-roading in it and took it for every maintenance needed. All vehicles have their pros and cons. People will like what they like.

I've had a Journey for about 2 years not a single problem with it yet, drove it about 2400 Kms back to Ottawa in the summer cost me about 200 bucks in gas each way and that's paying northern Ontario gas prices

Range Rover or navigator

This is my past experiences with SUV ones hip  
Honda CRV -loved it, owned it for 8 years and virtually no repair other than maintenance  
Hyundai Sante Fe - absolutely junk, had it for 6 months and their mechanics drove it more than I did while trying to fix it  
Chevrolet Equinox - was good, no issues but the family out grew it so.....  
Chevrolet Tahoe - absolutely fantastic, tires and a battery was all the repairs except for a throttle body control that was repaired as a recall  
Jeep Grand Cherokee - just bought it new this summer and so far it's been great, time will tell.  
 
As far as a Dodge Journey, the older ones had a lot of power steering hose problems. There is a recent recall for them as they continue to break. My brother had a Journey and after 3 broken hoses, lost all the fluid and just returned from Winnipeg from our mothers passing he traded it off the next day for a Nissan of some kind. And don't ever think of changing the battery, jack up the drivers side front, take the wheel and inside panel off to get to the battery, what a dumb idea hiding the battery there.  
 
This is my experiences with SUVS and actually the Journey is a crossover.

Currently, we own the Acura RDX Turbo. It's fun, sporty, and has tons of luxury features! No issues, and great on fuel. We've never owned a Hyundai but my sister and aunt both do and LOVE them. I've worked with Hyundai in Brandon before and they've always seemed really great to deal with.  
 
Best case scenario is to go to Winnipeg and honestly test drive everything. (That's what we did) everyone has a bad experience with something, and Personal likes/dislikes. Go with what YOU love!

We have a journey and there are things we like and dislike about it  
 
LIKES  
- space, we have the 7 seater, 6 seats fold down if needed  
- good gas mileage  
- affordable  
- built in booster seats in the middle row  
 
 
DISLIKES  
- doesn''t fit 4 car seats due to having to get the 2 in the 3rd seat (not that many people have this issue lol)  
- under powered, slow pickup  
- power steering issues. We had to switch to a more flexible hose and synthetic fluid. Before this, the hose broke every year (3x)  
- nothing too major but minor things from time to time but luckily warranty covered it  
- our tires are 19" and hard to find and expensive. Had to put 17" winter tires on  
- routers warp easy  
- came with command start but then winter rolled around and we found out it was "engine only start" so no heat. We (and the dealership) had never heard of this!! So double check that! The dealership did put in another command start but still a bit annoying  
 
Would we buy it again?? Probably not but it was a good first crossover vehicle.  
 
We bought it about 4 years ago and it''s an 09. We test drove the 2012 but I found way too many blind spots for me and the console setup was weird IMO compared to the 09. I haven''t been in any newer ones so maybe some of that stuff is fixed

I bought a Jeep Patriot in April and have had more than enough issues with mine. Head light sockets replaved, rear control arms replaced, throttle body replace and now a seat belt recall.. All in a matter of six months. Maybe just this particular vehicle I purchased (because I take great care of my vehicles) but I would not recommend.

I bought a 2012 Kia Sportage AWD from Planet Kia a couple years ago and it treated me unbelievably well. Got 30+ MPG on a trip to Edmonton no problems/recalls lot of space and a great looking vehicle. I've test drive the New Kia Sorento and it's an amazing vehicle.
