We have a 2003 minivan that we are looking to sell, but of course want to get it saftied first. When we took it to the shop, we were told it first needs an integrity check because it has some rust on the lower part of the sides. I then phoned around and it sounds like no one does them in Brandon. Does anyone know where we can get this done? One place I called mentioned taking it to Winnipeg, but couldn't even tell me if I should be calling autobody places or car dealerships. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A body integrity test unless it's a write off. Take it in for a safety, the techs have guidelines as to what fails. If the rust is too bad then it will need to be repaired properly with welded metal.

We did take it in for a safety today, so They must have decided today that it failed the rust check then, as they said it needs this integrity check. Not sure it's worth the trouble if we have to take it to Winnipeg. Thanks for your replies!

You do not have to take it for a body integrity unless it is an autopac write off deemed repairable. If they failed it because of the rust then you only have to have the rust repaired properly for it to pass. The problem is , with labor rates these days, it's probably not a feasible thing to spend that money in order to sell it. If this rust is in a spot that may allow exhaust fumes to enter the passenger compartment that would fail and may be repairable. If the rust is in more structural areas, then it probably makes no sense at all to repair.
