I grew up on a 480-acre farm in south-western Manitoba, attended a one-room country school for grades one to eight, and rode a yellow school bus to high school in the small town of Souris. I have a bachelor's degree in economics from Brandon University and a master's from the University of Saskatchewan. I taught business education in high school for Souris Valley School Division and lectured in economics at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Recently, I took early retirement as an economist from Statistics Canada in Ottawa. I now live in Brandon where I have taken up the career I began in grade six, writing. Divorced, I have two sons and two grandsons who live nearby. Just Call Me Maggie is my debut novel. If you'd like a preview follow the links to Chapter 1. By the way, it's available at Abby Rose - a local business - and my second novel Jake Meets His Match is available in the anthology Meat and Potatoes from Lulu Marketplace.
