Class 1 Truck Driver & Equipment Operator- Permanent
The Class 1 Driver/Equipment operator will operate a variety of trailers and equipment to haul, sort, move, load, process, and unload scrap metal material. Working with large machinery will be fun and rewarding daily work for a great Driver/Operator.
Expected Duties:
- Drive a variety of trailers such as roll-off, super-b, flat deck, end dump and demo box.
- Load, unload, move, and sort metal material using various equipment including excavators, loaders, material handlers, bobcats, and forklifts.
- Follow safe loading and disposing procedures on site and/or remote locations.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and perform pre-trip inspections and other safety checks.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and trailers.
- Complete labour tasks as needed, such as shoveling, sweeping, lifting, and climbing.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily outdoors both onsite and at locations within MB primarily.
- This is a position that requires physical labour.
Knowledge, abilities, and experience:
- Possess at least 2 years of experience driving trucks and operating a variety of heavy equipment.
- Experience in the scrap metal industry, as an asset.
- Be able to lift to 75 pounds safely.
Education:
- Hold a valid Class 1 Driver?s License.
