Elton Collegiate - Day Shift

7.0 hrs/day, 6am - 2pm

Assignment

  • Permanent - Full Time
  • Monday to Friday - 12 months per year

 

Role/ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide custodial services to ensure effective physical operation and a positive physical environment through cleanliness of assigned School Division buildings.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, school division staff and suppliers.
  • Work effectively under pressure, within defined timeframes and with a variety of people in a team environment
  • Work well independently, be flexible, adjust to changing work assignments and deal with and maintain confidential information.
  • Complete and maintain WHMIS certification.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised
  • Ability to work as effectively with others as a member of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people both orally and in writing
  • Physically fit and capable of physical work
  • Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised

 

Preferred Qualifications (training provided as needed)

  • Current WHIMIS training and certification
  • Prior work-related cleaning experience
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Compensation

  • As per CUPE Collective Agreement - currently $18.52 per hour (2021 rate- under review / negotiation)
  • Benefits package including vacation, pension plan, long term disability and extended health and dental plan.
