Duties and Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Director of Physical Plant and is responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of Brandon University. Duties include, but are not limited to cleaning, buffing and waxing floors, carpet care, auto scrubbing, changing lightbulbs, snow and ice removal, bed-making within university residences, cleaning washrooms, walls, and windows, garbage and recycling disposal, moving furniture, grounds maintenance, maintaining overall cleanliness of Brandon University as well as other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
The preferred candidate will possess a minimum of Grade 12 or GED, along with two (2) years of experience in institutional cleaning and groundskeeping, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. The candidate must be physically capable of performing all aspects of the role, including repetitive tasks such as bending, heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in elevated areas using ladders. Experience using FAMIS 360 or other work-order software is an asset. A physical demands assessment will be conducted as part of the hiring process. The successful candidate must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
