Purpose of Position
The Caretaker is responsible for overseeing and providing cleaning and minor maintenance services and basic repairs of Trinity United Church, Brandon.
Duties and Responsibilities
Cleaning all areas of the church.
Maintain clearing of walkways, entrances of building and ground throughout the winter season and ground maintenance spring, summer and fall.
Responsible for small maintenance, basic repairs, and security of property.
Inspecting the building ensuring everything is in working order.
Reporting required in depth repairs to Church Property Chair.
Required Qualifications
Specific knowledge and experience to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe facility using a variety of cleaning methods.
WHMIS training certificate.
Ability to use a snowblower effectively.
Effective basic computer skills, reading and writing skills.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Physically capable of bending, lifting, climbing stairs and ladders.
Ability to effectively complete task unsupervised.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial cleaning.
Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Regulations.
Demonstrated abilities to complete minor repairs.
Demonstrated experience in snow clearance using a snow blower.
Demonstrated abilities of working with professional staff and volunteers.
