Does anyone know why there is a little white church by the Esso on the number 1 highway?  
Might be an obvious question but for truckers or who is it for?

It’s for anyone travelling that wants to use it as far as I know

I always thought that little white church used to be more east of Brandon on north side of TransCanada highway

I remember the little church being on grand valley road by hwy 1. I also seem to remember it being on 1st street by kirkcaldy where the pine trees are. The meridian splitting 1st. Am I wrong?

The Wayside Chapel was built by members of the Chrisrian Reformed Church in 1967 as a centennial project. Primary builder was John Decker. It was spotted in grand valley by number 1 highway for many years and then moved to present location. It is a place for locals and travellers to stop and meditate. Very peaceful. It is still owned by the Christian Reformed Church and maintained by volunteers. May you find the peace of the Lord when you go there for a visit.

It was at the top of the Douglas hill by Highway No. 1. When the twinning of the highway started, it was moved to its current spot. I assume so it won't get damaged during construction. Why to that spot I don't know.  
 
It was to be moved back but that never happened. Why I don't know.  
 
The grand valley road and No. 1 highway little white church is still there.  
 
And unfortunately as I think about it, the move may have been about 45 years ago. Ah how time does pass.  
 
It was moved before the twinning of the highway so if someone knows when that happened then we know when it was moved.  
 
The church itself was at this Douglas location for a very long time. As long as I remember.

hope still around for awhile and maintained

then the little white church from Douglas area moved somewhere else.
