Getting into backcountry camping. Just getting my gear right now. Want to start in RMNP. Just wondering which campsites you would suggest for a first time out.

Tilson Loop

We did the Tilson Loop last summer and really enjoyed it. Great sites and a good hike. I believe it was about 40km total.

If you are open to other areas, Spruce Woods has the Epinette creek trail which is also good for beginner backcountry camping.

I would recommend the Whitewater Lake back country campsite. Easy 10K hike.
