COVID-19 or no COVID-19, we buy ours in batches when the sale is good so that we don't have to think about it for a few months. Made a lot of sense to do a batch on the weekend after seeing shots of what was happening overseas and so we're set for a while. Imagine a lot of folks are seeing similar images and its accelerating the trend.

Noticed Superstore was basically picked over around supper time today (Thursday)

Just saw a shot of Heritage Co-op's shelves from tonight which looked totally empty.

Gather Shoppers Drug Mart at the Mall was low a little after supper

Hot tip circulated tonight that Canadian Tire had stock, within half an hour someone sent me a pic of a shopper loading up their car from a cart that must've been full of 6-8 packages.

to stem from residents in Australia after they stopped imports from China. Since Australia has no forestry industry to produce their own paper products, they have to import from places like China. And the panic snowballed from there and is now hitting Brandon. Residents see others on social media doing it in other places and feel they have to do the same to the point it becomes a mob mentality.

And no, Canada does not have a shortage since we produce our own paper products and don't import from China.

This picture is from TODAY at westend Sobeys, shelves completely empty. Maybe you meant south end Sobeys? Walmart was also sold out as if this afternoon.

You don't even have to break the bank, I bought mine on amazon for $40, it connects to water line feeding toilet and sits under the seat and is held on by seat bolts, it has held up fine for the last 2 months.

After you bidet. Don’t you still need to wipe it dry?

I'm still in the learning phase with it as I've only had it for about 2 months, but I find 9 times out of 10 an exploratory wipe comes up clean as can be, and that exploratory wipe is now only 2 or 3 sheets.

As to drying, I find if I sit for 30 seconds after spraying it air dries fine

You can use a tiny bit of toilet paper or reusable towel. Your clean after using it so your just drying water off just like you do following shower.

Canadian tire has lots for now, its some no name brandon but they have large packages. Again every cart has some in it tho and person stocking thinks they will be out before supper at this rate.

Not even just a bidet, you could even just hop in the shower and wash up that way, or use wet wipes even.

I imagine most of the purchases happening now aren't because people are stocking up for potential quarantine, they're probably stocking up because they're afraid everyone else is going to buy all of it.

There are options! Let’s leave the TP for elderly and those who can’t get out often for their shopping.
A previous poster mentioned a bidet, heck you can use a diaper sprayer too. Get one for less than $60 and hook it up yourself easily.
Another new thing is “family cloth” which is washable cloths that are just for your ablutions. Feels better than leaves or catalogues.
Really toilet paper is a recent invention: humankind has done without it for centuries!

some people heading into Walmart say if there is no toilet paper, get paper towel. And as of 5pm Walmart had none on on the shelves.

Well I can tell you as of 2pm today the paper towel and toilet paper were not there!

There were kleenex tho.

Pretty ridiculous, went to buy toilet paper simply because I’m down to my last 2 rolls and today was payday. What a gong show. No baby wipes for people with babies now either, ran out of TP then came the paper towel and baby wipes. Just seems like everyone’s a bunch of spaz’s about this.
I do own a bidet so i’m not overly concerned, but still use and keep toilet paper in the home.
