Fifth anniversary giveaway: Wheat Kings/Keystone Centre (to run from now until we have a winner)
3/11/2010 at 2:05 PM
Throughout the day today, eBrandon is holding a series of FIVE contests to help celebrate FIVE years of being online. Below are details on the third contest, which begins right now. For full details on the day's contests, please check out
this thread.
THE PRIZE
The Brandon Wheat Kings are about to embark on what's expected to be one of the most exciting two month periods of hockey we've ever had a chance to witness.
The hockey club in conjunction with the Keystone Centre have contributed two tickets to the Wheat Kings' playoff opener on March 19th against an opponent to be determined as well as two cheeseburger platters to ensure you are well-fed while helping the homeside kick off what we all hope is a long playoff run. Total package value is roughly $60.
HOW TO WIN
You might be familiar with a somewhat similar style of contest on the radio. The person making the
205th reply to this thread (not including posts by myself) will win the prize package. You can post multiple times, but only one post per member per minute will be counted. In the unlikely event of an EXACT tie between two people for 205 (the site tracks post times down to the millisecond), a random draw will be held amongst all tied members to determine the winner.
This could go very quickly, or it might take a while... I have no idea!
There is a bit of a social element in that it will take a few people to step up and post in the early-going... and if nobody posts in the early-going, nobody wins. As it looks like we're getting closer to 205 I'm guessing we'll have a few people trying to time it. There won't be an exact running tally as we go along, but to give you a rough idea of where we're at the site displays 30 posts per page. There will no doubt be some duplicates that need to be removed to arrive at the official reply count.
Side note for anyone posting muliple times: you will have to make sure that you're at least using a different message subject, since the site's mutiple-post detection system will think your post is a duplicate if you use the same title in the same thread twice in a short period of time.
Once we have for-sure crossed 205, I'll post a note and then it will likely take a little longer for me to confirm a winner since I'll have to go over all previous posts to confirm which one is actually 205
