Another new toy: Easily add a map to your post

Another potentially handy new toy that you can take advantage of in your posts to eBrandon from now on....
Many times there are discussions centred around a topic or event at a specific address in Brandon or in Westman. It only makes sense that if for example we are talking about a road closure that we see a map showing where exactly that closure is.
From now on, to have a Google Map showing an exact street address added to your post please use the following syntax at the exact spot in your post that you'd like the map to show:
[map]Street Address here[/map]
replacing "Street address here" with a local address. As long as it's a real address (or street) the site will automatically insert an interactive Google Map and plot the address on the map.
Example, here's the Shoppers Mall which was added by putting
[map]1570 18th st[/map]:

You can also simply try putting in the name of a business. As long as Google can match that business name to an address, it will plot it... but from my experience so far this is pretty hit and miss so I'd recommend sticking to addresses and specific street names if you want to be sure.
If you're putting an address outside of Brandon, add "City name Manitoba" to the end of it. Eg. [map]2 Crescent Ave Souris Manitoba[/map] gets you this:

Feel free to use this thread to experiment.
Enjoy!
