Hi everyone,  
 
Possibly the most common question on the discussion forums is something to the tune of "Does anyone know a good place where I can get a.....?"  
 
This morning I've launched a major upgrade to the eBrandon business directory aimed at helping take this idea step further.  
 
The biggest change is that as eBrandon users and business customers, you now have the ability to post business recommendations and to contribute to determining Brandon's best businesses.  
 
When you post a recommendation for a business, it goes towards their overall total. That total is used to rank the business as a whole against other Brandon businesses, as well as against other businesses in a particular category.  
 
The other major change is that if a business is not in the directory but you wish to submit a recommendation for them, you have the ability to add them to the directory. They will then show up with a basic name & address listing and will have the option themselves to upgrade if they wish.  
 
Also when you post a recommendation, it will show up on your profile. This will give you the opportunity to see the businesses you have dealt/deal with. If you later are not satisfied by that business for whatever reason, you have the ability to remove your recommendation.  
 
As well, you'll notice the category structure has been completely revamped to allow for more categories.  
 
There are only three restrictions.  
 
#1 is that if you own or work for a particular business, you cannot submit a recommendation for it for reasons I'm sure you can understand.  
#2 is that these are positive recommendations. If a business has wronged you, the best way to have an impact is to post a recommendation for the business that ended up doing it right.  
#3 is that I would like to keep this for actual Brandon businesses. We already have a great section in the classifieds for your hobby handyman, babysitter, etc.  
 
The main idea behind this upgrade is to create a resource we can all use to help each other decide who to deal with. The more businesses and reviews, the better... so if a business has made you happy, please feel free to let them and everyone else know by posting a quick note.
