A classified deal-finding tip
3/4/2008 at 3:53 PM
Hi everyone,
Just a small deal-finding tip to share regarding the classifieds section of the site.
For anyone that buys through the classifieds, you'll know that ads are sorted from most recently posted to oldest. Usually the way the system works is that after an ad has been online for four weeks, it automatically expires and is no longer on the site.
Over the past few months I've implimented a new feature that automatically gives people whose items have *not* sold the option to extend their ad past those four weeks. A lot of people have ended up taking advantage of this option on a regular basis.
The thing to know is that since ads are sorted from most to least recent, these extended ads appear towards the end of the category you're browsing. So if you are looking for someone who has perhaps had a bit of difficulty selling that you would like to make an offer to (or someone that has lowered the price on their ad), it may be worth making a point of checking towards the end of the list of items in a given category.
Happy bargain hunting!
