Took my son into CEYS to see about the work experience program they are offering and was told they could not accept him into the program as they did not have their government funding yet for July.  
The staff all laughed it off saying they were sure it would come through before they had to lock the doors Friday.  
I remember this posted on ebrandon last year and asked if this was normal for the office. They said it has just been the last few years, but as with all services, budgets are being cut. The staff were still very helpful explaining about the program and how the work experience will work, asking us to call back in couple of weeks and “if we answer the phones” will set you up an appointment.  
Ceys offers a great help for our kids and I sure hope their funding comes through

Don't worry the Conservatives have been such fine stewards of the economy there is no need for places like CEYS.

Total shame that these types of programs are continually treated like this. Maybe Pierre can answer questions for us in between his photo shoots?

We just heard this morning that we received our funding and it will be business as usual at CEYS next week. Thank you to all our clients, parents and the Community for their great support.

Nice to see the funding is in place. The Sad part is that this even has to be a issue  
 
What type of organization has to wait till the 11th hour to confirm funding? Especially in a election year were their should be front page headlines and a photo op for the elected official that is fully responsible for the funding.  
 
Is it a wonder that many people wonder if the government has any idea how to run the business that is know as Canada!!Even more ironic is that the young people that this organization is trying to help will be the same people that will be paying taxes to help pay our elected officials salaries, benefits and guaranteed pensions.

You would think with all those ads put on TV about how Canada's economy is adding more and more jobs every month that our government would invest more into places like CEYS rather than nearly suffocate them until the 11th hour.  
 
Places like CEYS are great institutions that help people find work and provide services such as mock interviews and helping build the perfect resume. I was unemployed for a few years and only finally found a job thanks to CEYS services. I had severe anxiety when it came to job interviews, but the team at CEYS did a great job helping me realize my potential.

I don't understand why there are so many agencies. Canada 411 has 11 agencies not including the Canada employment center. Why can't with a population our size consolidate resources to become more efficient thus allowing more chances for everyone needing services.

these are private businesses that rely on Government grants to keep their doors open, which in turn provides employment for a few people working there. I actually think it is something that should be reviewed because really how many of these do we need??
