Just purchased a boat. It has an inboard Mercruiser 3.0 liter. Now we need to winteize it. Can anyone give us explicit directions on what to do. It has the system with the 2 drain hoses. Can we be sure that once we have drained these hoses that the engine will be completely empty of water. Have watched youtube videos and seems to be different opinions regarding anti-freeze. Do we put in antifreeze and if so how do we do it? Don't want to find cracks in the engine next spring. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a boat as well...3.0 merc with 2 drain holes.

Fogging, draining, fuel stabilizer, gimble bracket position for storage, running and draining antifreeze through the system, oil & filter change, oil drain and replace in the foot. ect.... The only things I didn't do was remove the drive and prop....do that in the spring.  
 
Once you know what to do....its simple. Good luck.

for a very reasonable cost.  
 
The bottom end froze on my brother's motor.  
It broke from the ice inside. He winterized it himself.
