Classifieds

I know the feeling of finding an item in the classifieds that you get excited about and wanting to be in touch as soon as possible. The thing to keep in mind is that with so many folks using the classifieds you'll run into people in a lot of different situations as far as availability and as far as just how badly they want to sell their item immediately ...
- Some as you've said may end up in ones spam folder, however efforts are regularly undertaken on the eBrandon end to limit this
- Some will have a lot on their plate and will wait until there are a few ad replies before replying in batches. This is that much more likely for folks that choose not to include a phone number so that they can efficiently manage their time via email on their own schedule.
- Some simply don't check their email very often but eventually do
- As mentioned above some may have sold and still have to mark their ad that way.
In many cases if having not received a reply to your message after a couple days, sending a follow up message can keep the ball rolling. On the seller side I also always like to stress communication. It's never a bad idea if posting an ad to mention how often you reply in order to set the most realistic possible expectation with potential buyers.
As far as the spam folder, one of the more important duties of running a site that sends a lot of email is working with email providers if messages start going into ones spam folder for a specific provider. I'm regularly in contact with providers of all stripes if any kind of issue develops to ensure the most optimal situation possible. You can always run a test by replying to your own ad if you're curious.
If you ever run into a situation where a message ends up in your spam folder or have a question relating to anything mentioned above don't hesitate to drop me a note through the Contact & Support link at the bottom of any page in the site and I'll follow up!
