Rolling off of another classified discussion I had this thought...Is anyone else ever curious when they see brand new, unopened items listed in classifieds by the same person all the time, sometimes repeat items listed multiple times. These items are usually small drugstore type things (makeup, shampoo, deodorants etc) I just wonder how do they keep getting all these brand new never used items lol. This is not to come across as accusatory in anyway either, I'm honestly just genuinely curious

It's not unusual for someone to sell a new, unopened item or two on the classifieds. I've sold one or two myself of stuff I'd bought in the past, never used and figured someone else would get good use out of something new (kudos to you, mini disc player guy who in hindsight probably made a killing off of the unopened music player we sold you last year )  
 
Important also to keep in mind that we're getting into the time of year where you're seeing an uptick in ads as a lot of folks do a "spring cleaning" around the house. Without seeing the exact ads you're mentioning in the original post, its possible that someone is simply clearing out their cabinet of items that have piled up that they haven't used and that's one of the great use cases of the classifieds.  
 
What I try to avoid are situations where someone has a source for large quantities of new product on the cheap, they buy that new product in large quantity (on say eBay) and then turn around and sell it in large quantity the classifieds to turn a profit. If it happens once it could simply be a case of buying more in a lot than one ended up needing, which is cool. If it happens often it starts to get out of the realm of selling personal items and into the realm of operating like a business if say selling new iPhone cables every week as opposed to selling one or two new cables they had to have lying around that they haven't used. If you see a situation of regular new items from the same person, please don't hesitate to drop me a report and I'll take a look!

I've wondered the same thing. I waiver between thinking stolen or someone bulk buying lol. But I mostly think someone's just gone to Costco and bought something in multiples, I know we have enough deodorant to last a year from costco lol.

Also be aware that it's easy to buy counterfeit items for cheap over the internet, and then sell them locally as if they're the real deal. Beats headphones are popular counterfeits, for example. DX.com used to (still does maybe) sell a counterfeit Shure SM58 microphone with a piece of lead on the inside to match the weight of the transformer that would be in the authentic item. It's so easy to get stuff like this and resell it at a profit.  
 
I never buy new second-hand items unless I know the person selling them.

I have seen this as well on the different Facebook groups for Brandon where people can sell things. Once person in particular did make it known that she uses a lot of coupons, so got great deals on things but she won't be able to use all of it so then sells it at a reduced price.

I post new/unused health and beauty stuff frequently. It's usually the extras from kits/baskets or stuff I've changed my mind about. That being said- I've always wondered about the posts the op is talking about....

Any new and unopened items should be required to be posted with a reciept. As well as electronics that come without cases and are posted at 8:00 am Saturday after last nights B&E.  
 
Just my two cents but I believe there is a large percentage of stolen goods.
