MTS International Roaming

Our office was with MTS. We had nothing but problems, especially with data overages. We had people in the US come back with $800 data bills. I put my phone on in Barbados to pick up emails for a couple of hours one day and had a $30 data bill. Their plans were terrible. Things may change with the Bell take over but be really careful.
There is a package you can get for $30 for the month that gives you calls, texts and some data. However, they will keep charging you the $30 unless you take the positive step to stop it. I found this out the hard way - more than a year later (our bookkeepers were paying the bill so I never saw it). My advice is to go to a MTS store and make sure you have the right package. Otherwise, you could end up with a very big surprise when you get back.
We have just switched to Telus and they have a fixed amount per day (I think its $7) to a maximum of $100 a month which gives you roam like home abilities. Alternatively, you can add a recurring US roaming package for $10/month.
