Exhausted said "So expensive all. Increasing always
Unfortunately for me and many can’t live without it. Not only for internet but I get all my Netflix etc plus all the free apps for shows.
Never would ever go back to paying for “regular “ TV channels/cable.
Internet is a necessity for majority.
Like a cellphone nowadays. Though a cellphone can do a lot and may only need that if you don’t do anything on a laptop.
Canada is one of the most expensive country for services. Unless as a population we stand up and protest this. Will just continue. "
Canada is the most expensive country for services. Maybe compared to places with very high population density like Europe we are high. Compared to North Dakota our prices are in many cases lower. I pay $40.00 per month for Canada, USA and Mexico and 100 GB Similar plan in ND 45.00 USD.
Internet Westman 450 $48.00, North Dakota 425 $60.00 USD
Shaw Direct $55.00 Dish in USA 43.00 USD.
Do not be scared to negotiate and if that fails change suppliers. Most suppliers have introductory offers, use that with current supplier as a lever and change suppliers if needed.
For internet I have my own router so changing suppliers is basically plug and play. I buy my phone outright so port the number and change the sim card and I am on a new cell provider.
Instead of protesting do your due diligence and shop. That will do more to lower prices than protesting.
Just a thought, my cell phone is cheaper and does far more than the old phone that was tied to the wall, Also depending on your situation, if you have limited needs for internet do not subscribe to an internet provider, use your phone as a hot spot.
