I had a friend that said they had taken over someone's annual contract a few years ago in a different city. Does anyone know if Good Life still allows memberships to be transferred and where I would go to find someone looking to get out of one?  
 
I checked the classifieds already and haven't ever seen anything on the garage sale pages on facebook.  
 
The $34/bw and committed for a whole year seems a bit too much of a commitment for me, that's almost as bad as phone contracts.

I think Brandon memberships do not allow you to go into other goodlife without a drop in fee. anyone correct me if I'm wrong. That is why I do not use goodlife, as I travel to other big cities.

I highly doubt they let people take over other peoples memberships. If they do I would imagine they charge some sort of fee to change names that would sort of make transferring less appealing. However I do not know this for sure. I am just thinking they are in the business to make money so they want as many new members as they can get.  
 
Why not just pay monthly if you can't afford a year? It will cost you more but might be easier to handle. Or better yet if you want to take over 6 months of someone elses membership just get a 6 months membership yourself. I can't see the difference in money being that much more.  
 
There are lots of options for gyms in Brandon, if GoodLife is out of your budget look around at other options.

Yeah you’re probably right Ms.daisy, I should go in and see what they offer in terms of contract lengths. Im not too interested in the single month if its $80/month like they say online. For that rate I’ll just stick to the bike trails and free weights at home.

Yea, I tried to find you prices online for comparison but it appears they are the type of gym that wants you to go sit down for a "consultation" and be sold all the extras. Who knows maybe you can negotiate a cheaper price. I mean if they want to keep their membership prices a secret and it appears they fluctuate quite a bit from some reviews I've just read you may get a good deal. I mean after all a few bucks is better then no bucks. Give it a try!

My monthly fee @Goodlife here is far less than $80/month or even $34/bw.  
 
I bought the cheapest I could which allows me to use that Goodlife only (no other locations) & then negotiated a better price. They will negotiate... reluctantly... if you are that type of person (like I am) who can be aggressive enough.  
 
NEVER pay any sign-up fees... they will ALWAYS wave it if you insist enough.  
(They make their money on monthly fees, not sign-ups)  
 
They didn’t offer a “term” contract (to me anyway) because the hope is that, even if you stop going, you don’t cancel your membership so they will bill you monthly until you do. (Plus pay them the $100 cancellation fee).

They often have a 14 day membership for $14. It's a good way to see if Goodlife is for you with no longterm commitment. (Not sure if it's currently on right now but I have seen it lots so it's worth a phone call.)
