Without having to go through doc for a blood test can others do it like a nurse practioner ?

All blood work is covered under MHSC. I don’t maybe understand your question what blood work are you looking for?

I'm just wondering if the Newlife Clinic on Princess is a walk in or do I have to call an make a appointment . I looked it up does have much info . thanks

Is this a new clinic? I can’t even find it.

I believe the only medical clinic on Princess is Dr Heibesh at Princess Medical Clinic. It is not a walk-in clinic.  
 
Newmount Medical Clinic on 18th is a walk-in clinic, is that the clinic you are thinking of?  
 
Certain health care providers other than MD's can order certain blood tests. Nurse Practitioners can order almost all that an MD can order. There is only one NP in Brandon, at the 7th Street Access Center, which is not a walk-in clinic. Naturopaths are able to order a limited number of tests. Registered Nurse (Authorized Prescriber) can order a limited number of tests in specific settings - this is a new licensing category with the College, I don't believe there are any in Brandon at the present time. Midwives can order a specific number of pregnancy-related tests.

The nurses at Public Health in the Town Center order testing for and treat STI’s. They actually do the testing right there so no need to go to a lab.

Not all blood work is covered anymore. My doctor hasn’t been able to test my vitamin D levels anymore as government refuses to pay for it anymore.

I work in healthcare and the Government DOES cover this testing 1 time a year. The testing for it takes about 6-8 weeks that’s why they limit it because the waiting time for results it approximately 12wks.  
A internal Medicine Specialist can test as often because they have government pre-approval.

No, the government does NOT cover Vit D testing once a year. It covers it only for specified medical conditions. The reason is not because of the waiting time, the reason is because screening isn't needed for the general population because it does not provide health benefits.
