High iron levels in blood question

Is there anywhere in Brandon today that would set up a appointment now to have the iron removed we were told yesterday that we have to wait for the hospital to call to set up a appointment it could be a while before get phone call . meanwhile feeling dizzy , headaches , blurry vision etc . Any suggestions any clinics that would help us out ?

Another view said "Would be your best bet or call emergency at hospital and they would give you the best advice.

I would not wait if it is that bad that's what emergency room is for .

thanks for the info . Just as I got the info phone rang it:s the hospital first it was a Tues appointment then I asked anything sooner so in for Sunday thank goodness .

If you have been previously diagnosed with hemochromatosis do you not have regularly scheduled appointments to have your blood removed (that is the treatment) and regular checks with a doctor? It's not something you go to ER for.

yes scheduled appointments will have to be set up for every 2 months this is the second time have had this done .

Definitely not something to go to the Emerg room for. The Outpatient department is the only place in Brandon that does phlebotomies, not any of the clinics.
You may want to mention your symptoms to your primary care provider, as those are generally not symptoms of high iron.

I am told that high iron is one marker to indicates you are a candidate for Parkinson’s. We were advised to be regular blood donors

My husband has high level of iron in his blood. The doctor said to donate blood and he does that four times a year. His iron level is normal now. Blood donor clinic is this Thursday.

No point in calling the emergency department. They can’t give phone advice legally. They will refer you to Health Links
