Hey everyone,  
 
Well now that September is here, and the autumn air is beginning to set in, I was wanting to look into getting back into tanning.  
 
For the last few years I had been using Tan FX, but I’m sure most of you have heard by now that, that is no longer an option. (I’ll miss the employees there- absolutely amazing and kind!)  
 
I really liked Tan FX as I found their beds felt warm and comfortable. Now, I’ve used tanning beds at some of the gyms in town but I always found the beds at the gyms in town (that offer this service) tend to stay relatively cool/mild as far as temperatures go, but I don’t want this. I actually like leaving the tanning salons feeling warm and having that warmth stay with me for awhile.  
 
Basically, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to where one could go, and why. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

Outside of tanning at a gym, you have two options for tanning salons: Fabutan or Catch-A-Tan. Both locations have been around Brandon for at least 15 years, so they must be doing something right.  
 
Fabutan, which is locally owned, is a franchise that has to follow certain rules and regulations. For example, they change their tanning bulbs every 500 hours. Minutes bought at any Fabutan will work at any other Fabutan. I travel a lot, so it is nice to be able to buy minutes in Brandon and then use them in Winnipeg or Calgary. In addition to tanning they also just got a new spray tan booth which is amazing. From my understanding their business model is similar to that of Tan FX.  
 
Catch-A-Tan is locally owned, but I am not as familiar with them as I am Fabutan, all I know is they have been around Brandon for a long time!  
 
Fabutan does have a promotion on their minutes right now though, if you buy 300 minutes they give you 150 minutes for free.

My recommendation is to NOT use tanning beds.
