Have been working through the hours page on updates, will continue to do so tomorrow to verify in lieu of April 1 changes.  Will try best to keep as up-to-date as possible, but where critical please verify with the business/its website/social media.

From this afternoon's provincial COVID-19 bulletin, 24 new cases in Manitoba have been announced bringing the provincial total of confirmed+probable to 127.  
 
The breakdown of those 127 cases continues to show 9 in the Prairie Mountain Health region, which would seem to indicate no new cases in the Prairie Mountain region since yesterday.  
 
At the media conference Dr. Roussin spoke to confirming the early signs of community transmission in Winnipeg. The media conference was used in part to re-emphasize the critical importance of staying home, and if one must go out to practice social distancing at every opportunity.

- Tim’s. For anyone that has their app, a notification and email went out earlier this week re a delivery service at select locations. Note that delivery service is NOT offered here at this time, it looks like Brandon users were inadvertently included in the alert.  Tims locations continue to offer service as per info on the hours page. 
 
-Brandon Public Library. For folks that had read about the Brandon Public Library’s contactless book delivery service, please see note below I’m passing along on their behalf:  

 
“Due to the high volume of demand, the Library will no longer be taking requests for the Contactless Book Delivery Service. Once we’ve caught up with our current requests and the situation allows, we look forward to resuming the service”

Toymasters is back with curb side and shipping service after having to close when all of the social distancing measures came into place. Orders are placed by phone or email with the store invoicing customers and payments being made after that by PayPal or etransfer. Phones will be answered between 10am-5pm Monday to Friday with curb side pickups between 3-5pm. They’re taking orders starting tomorrow, aiming to start with pickups after the weekend. On another note, unfortunately the YWCA Brandon’s Women of Distinction Gala is having to be postponed. It was to be held on May 7. I suspect we’re going to see more events in that late April into May timeframe having to make some difficult decisions soon.

Via the Sun, Westjet also maintains a list of flights with COVID-19 cases. For the March 15 WS 3256 they are showing “all seats” in the column used to designate affected rows:

The Province announced 15 new cases today, bringing the Manitoba total to 182.  
 
The second death has also taken place. 9 are hospitalized, 6 of which are in intensive care and 11 have recovered.  
 
Prairie Mountain Health numbers show 12 COVID-19 cases (10 confirmed, 2 probable). That is an increase of 1 probable case in this region compared to yesterday.

Like Sobeys West, Sobeys South is now limiting number of people inside at one time. The store has put together a video that shows changes they’ve put in place re social distancing (including hand wash stations, arrows guiding traffic through the store, place markers for checkout lines to ensure distancing). For anyone like me that hasnt been down a grocery aisle in 3 weeks, the video at this link gives an idea of what the one store is like:

Also wanted to pass along a note re outdoor activity (not necessarily today which sucks, but forecast says it will turn for the better real soon).  
 
Though folks are being advised to stay home wherever possible, the Province’s social distancing page states on its “Safe to do” list “Outdoor physical activity (e.g. walking, running, biking, hiking) on your own or with your household members”

The chart on the main provincial COVID-19 page shows the Prairie Mountain Health region as having 12 total cases (11 confirmed and 1 probable). 12 is the same total number that was reported for Prairie Mountain yesterday which was made up of 10 confirmed and 2 probable.

Jenn and Ryan Shields have taken on a great little project that they’re calling “Local Love.” They’re regularly doing video interviews through Zoom talking with local business owners about the impact that the pandemic response is having.  
 
Without us having a TV station, what Ryan and Jenn are doing is really a great service to the community in showing us local faces and voices during everything that’s going on.

For those following the ongoing developments around the March 14 and 15 WestJet late flights into Brandon that had confirmed COVID-19 cases...  
 
The listing on the Provincial exposures page for the March 14 WS 3256 to Brandon flight has now been updated to in stead show rows 9-15 as being effected. Previously it was only said to be seat 12A:

The Province announced the 3rd death at this afternoon's media briefing, a man from Winnipeg in his 60s. 13 new cases are reported today in total. With that Manitoba is at 217 cases between confirmed and probable.  
 
The chart that shows a regional breakdown has the Prairie Mountain Health region at 11 cases, which is the same number reported for the region yesterday.

Separately, I wanted to point out that a chart on the main province COVID-19 page shows an age breakdown of the 217 cases so far. Based on that chart the 20-29 age bracket is the most common age group with 51 cases. Each age range out of the 217 cases breaks down as follows:  
 
80-89: 3 cases  
70-79: 12 cases  
60-69: 38 cases  
50-59: 41 cases  
40-49: 27 cases  
30-39: 35 cases  
20-29: 51 cases  
10-19: 5 cases  
0-9: 5 cases  

By gender it breaks down as:

Female: 112
Male: 115

A question was asked relating to the current age and gender breakdown at the press conference and Dr. Roussin cautioned against reading too far into those numbers this early into the pandemic in this province.

The City of Brandon reminded via social media that the downtown transit information office is now closed until further notice. Buses continue running free transit service with entry and exit at the rear of the bus. For more please see http://brandontransit.ca  
 
Also City of Brandon, at a Council meeting last night changes approved included deferring the property tax payment deadline to July 31, the addition of increased flexibility in tax instalments and waiving the fee on taxes not paid until October.
