I know that putting this out there may put me at risk of ridicule. Please be kind. This has been a topic in the past but I am wanting to find some friendships. Why is it so hard as we get older? Maybe it's being cooped up in quarantine that's made me realize that I'm lonely for friends. (I am happily married so am not looking for romance) I am looking for someone to laugh with, share things and support each other.  
 
I am a professional female in my forties. I have hobbies including reading, travel, gardening and motorcycling.  
 
In other threads on the subject people often say to they find friends at work. I work with all young men who do not share my interests. I find volunteering rewarding but find I am among the youngest of volunteers, so again different interests.  
 
Any suggests would be appreciated or reach out if you feel the same.
