in the news it stated that a quebec couple was refused entry into a tourist location as they admitted to not self isolating when they came to manitoba.  
 
now this couple said they will go to other places and just lie about not self isolating.  
 
this type of attitude and behavior can not be tolerated.  
 
It didn't say but I hope the couple was reported to the RCMP with their licence plates.  
 
They should be fined and kicked out of Manitoba  
 
putting all of our lives at risk is not acceptable.  
 
also makes you wonder about whether others from the East are being honest about self isolating.

Traveled from Falcon Lake to Brandon on Sunday, the out of province traffic was unbelievable. Numerous cars from Quebec and many from Ontario, probably not all from Northern Ontario. There were also vehicles with plates that we could not identify. Unless there are strict and enforced rules for travelers to Manitoba we will be exposed to the problems that other provinces and the U.S. have.

IMO.. Canada has a whole country is doing well compared to USA.  
Ive seen mutliple Ontario and Quebec license plates cars on hwy 1 and lots of Ontario plates in Brandon. You have to remember Alberta covid numbers arent good and correct me if im wrong there were a few days that Alberta had more covid cases vs Ontario. If anything they shouldnt allow AB in MB.  
 
Having said that, the disturbing part is why am i seeing north dakota vehicles in mb? We were in winnipeg last week and came across a few north dakota vehicles. If CBSA are saying theyre not let anyone in.. theit not doing their iobs. I can careless about medical appts.. theyre from america.. then stay there!

I’ve had family move here temporarily from BC. They’ve been here about 7 weeks now and will be here another few months minimum. I took their vehicle out and was yelled at and recorded at the corral centre. 6 months pregnant and screamed at in my face, spitting on my face. How is this acceptable behaviour? All over an out of province license plate.. But shoving me and spitting in my face is okay and won’t spread covid?  
Stop judging people for license plates.

The thing is when travel was 'banned' , there were enough people who ignored the self isolation warnings. The piece of paper which one gets when entering Manitoba is just a piece of paper. Like any other law, it means squat if its not enforced. This is partially why Pallister went ahead and open up some travel restrictions and to a certain extent, we are paying for it a little bit.

I lost track of how many times I was given the stink eye or almost refused entry to locations when I answered honestly about traveling outside the province.  
 
I was deemed essential service and provided travel documents for it and had to go about 20 minutes into saskatchewan occasionally, you would have sworn I had just admitted to travelling from wuhan china the way some people over reacted.  
 
It got to the point I just say no to any out of province travel questions to simplify the process, does that make me a monster ?

That Canada is doing pretty good. Continue to do what mom taught us:  
 
Don't get all up in someone's space  
Cover your mouth when you cough  
Wash your hands  
 
Live life.

Please remember before you get angry, if you are here in Winnipeg and see plates from the USA that they may actually be American Service Members stationed at air command. Some of those American license plates are people that work and live here temporarily.

That is so sad that people are so judgmental like that, let a lone screaming in someone's face......what is this world coming to?

The RCMP stopped them not far from where I live. I had assumed they were told to go back to Quebec. Was that not the case? Do you have a link for a full run-down?

There are many exemptions for foreign workers. While the border is officially closed there are still cross border workers and commercial goods entering to keep the Canadian economy open. The updates to the Order In Council issued by the federal government restrict nearly all forms of non-essential travel but there are a few who meet these exemptions.

The world would be a much better place if everyone was honest and actually cared about others. It's clear that this couple doesn't really care about others around them.  
 
That being said, this is why I nag everyone about masking. At the very least the people who are lying about being from out of province will be wearing masks to prevent others from getting sick, while everyone else is wearing a mask to prevent getting sick.

I can see nothing more on them.. When asked about them from a reporter at the news conference today, it wasn't really replied to. Just the usual general answer.  
 
I have no problems with essential workers or anyone like that or people coming from somewhere.  
 
but when they don't self isolate as they should from the East and actually say they are going to lie about it just to do tourist attractions.

Okay, after reading the article, it was apparently a different vehicle from Quebec that was pulled over near where I live, since it happened a couple weeks ago.  
 
Still disheartening. Why create provincial grouping "bubbles" if they'll just be ignored? Especially when people from the higher-covid areas come to lower-infected areas. It lacks respect.

and people will do what they want without consideration to others. When we were locked down I would use delievery drivers for alot of stuff which does get abit costly and other times I would go out to get some stuff but mostly stayed home, and being a loner/hermit came in handy lol But some days ya just needed to go for a walk. physical distancing and courtesy and if you are able to wear a mask and wash hands/sanitize them just do your best. I was using the hand wash station at a store and this guy just cut in front of me and the others in line to wash our hands and i thought wow...I dont understand some people how can you miss the line up to wash hands? No one is above another person and I just dont have the health strength to even ask him to get to the back of the line and wait his turn lol I dont think giving him a time out would work lol So my fault there for letting him do that....i'm sorry. But others were washing hands and doing their part which was nice and alot of people used manners when wanting to pass you or said sorry if they came near you. Thanks for that.

People have been travelling around and stopping at westman businesses since the beginning of lockdown. Working in customer service during this whole time... try asking your customers what they’re up to for the rest of the day while the are checking out.... “oh, just travelling through from ****” . Thanks for travelling from somewhere you’re not supposed to come from! People weren’t listening to travel restrictions in April/May, they’re not listening now.

with the comment before me. What does it take for these people who are travelling to different provinces to get it thru their head that they shouldn't be doing that!!! This is one reason why we are having this second wave. If you "have" to travel, stay in Manitoba and see the sights that it has to offer. I think all borders should be closed meaning provincial borders. Because of these people, some of us are staying home and obeying the rules. It is what it is - get used to it......
