Giddyup said "Registered online last night to get flu shots for myself and my son...heard from someone this morning that there was a lineup of 50+ people there this morning. I called and spoke with someone in the pharmacy who said that they have gone to an appointment based system but that they are booked up today and tomorrow already (they don't normally do them on weekends but were "doing people a favour by doing them tomorrow".. her words) So I said ok, can I make an appt for next week (once you register online you only have 7 days to get the flu shot done) . She puts me on hold then comes back and says "Ya sorry, we aren't making any appts for next week you'll just have to come to the store and wait in line outside (which doesn't sound like an appt based system to me). She also advised us to arrive at 8am or earlier even though flu shots don't start until 10am..and "you MIGHT get a time slot that day". So basically a day off from school and work and we MIGHT get it done.
How is a bunch of people waiting in line outside safe during a pandemic??? "
I tried making an appointment last night when i called. Was told no appointments, i tried again today before they said they wouldn’t get the chance to get to me today, still said no appointments. The whole thing was chaos honestly. Just clusters of people visiting with their friends they bumped into in line. Many of the people in line who talked to me where elderly so did not pre sign up on line. They kept saying they were too old to use that online stuff, couple of them went off about their privacy and filling out info online blah blah blah. This makes the line go extremely slow and doesn’t allow them to get through nearly as many people. I’d assume a good 80% did not register online or had no clue how to do it when asked in line up.
