We may as well just accept that most of us will be waiting quite a while before we have the opportunity to be vaccinated against covid. We have to wait our turn. Makes it all the more important that everyone continues to practice the fundamentals and follow covid guidelines. I’ve been noticing quite a few large gatherings at some homes recently which shouldn’t be happening.

Everyone is deserving of the vaccine and in what order they receive the vaccine is not up to us. You may have opinions but that’s all they are, opinions.

Totally understanding of the plan to have health care workers and the vulnerable get the first doses and to slowly work their way down to the less vulnerable. If the plan is to slowly put a dent in the possibility for severe inundation of the medical system, it would seem to make a lot of sense.

As far as prisoners, not clear on what the strategy is but wonder how much the plan will account for jails like BCC that have already had a meaningful percentage of the population get the virus?

Easy solution...

Just jab the convicts a month before they are set to be released, another stab a day or two before their final day and a good swift kick in the @$$ on their way out. Manitoba Health should be protecting the public and nothing else. Get the guards & staff done early on, first, since they're actually being productive members to our society and stick the residents both times when they're ready to bugger off. Then at least Manitoba Health doesn't have to "chase them down" for the booster shots. Easy pleasy. No fuss, no muss. Until there is an ample surplus of the vaccine ready for the general public, then we can poke them all. They're feed, they're watered, they're babysat and they got direct, "in house access" to healthcare officials... They better than "good" when compared to the communities up north or the senior homes down south. The only exception should be for those inmates who are old and already sickly and would likely end up taking space in an ICU.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

already frustrated with the speed of this vaccination effort. At this rate we will be in this crap for another year!

is that the government is calling the shots and not we are. they may end this fear making or not. so far they pushing everybody against the wall. we have to hope and believe that soon will be a controlled immunization and a better future.

Government is us, wants virus to be sent packing as much as you and I do. Its response, just like that of govs across the country, is guided by medical expertise that is taking best steps to minimize spread, impact on medical system and ultimately on lives in the community and province. That includes putting initially very minimal vaccine doses to best use. We're still in a place of very high risk, hence “red/critical” measures in place, but there's a path out as more and more doses come in and as folks continue to follow necessary public health orders in the interim.

In spirit of op’s initial question, if you disagree with the early vaccine rollout how are you suggesting that the province make best use of these limited initial Pfizer and Moderna doses?

Brutal topic TC. You did a bad job.

Vaccine will be rolled out based on groups most at risk. No matter how much you cry about that on the internet, or think you're better than anyone else, it won't change that. Because ,thankfully, the people in charge are functioning on a much higher level than people that create topics like this on community message boards.

Am I the only one that finds your statement extremely ironic? You go to this site to say that your shouldn't go to this site for vaccine information.
