As I sit here waiting for my test results I am curious and wondering if anyone feels comfortable sharing their covid test experience mostly regarding wait times. (The screeners and nurses I’ve experienced at the test site are always phenomenal).  
 
Currently on day 3.5, last two tests took about 26-28 hours. Just wondering if anyone is experiencing longer wait times now as cases lower so less resources are going towards test processing.  
 
Also curious how individuals cope with lost wages especially with household members not being able to work or go to school.  
 
I fear people will simply not get tested if it causes major burden on the household financially and emotionally and that needs to be addressed if that is the case.

In Sask, was like a drive thru almost as fast as ordering at McDs. Waited about 24 hours for results. They don't contact you if you are negative.  
 
Where is testing done in Brandon?

I got tested around 1pm, had my results that night online. The drive through one by ACC tests here in brandon. The keystone one sends it off to winnipeg.

We got tested a couple of weeks ago. It was my third time since August. I've never waiting more than 15 minutes to get the test done at the drive-thru site, and our longest wait time for results has been 36 hours. We've always been negative.  
 
It's possible that you are positive. I don't think those results are posted, but they will call instead. The wait time for contact tracers seem wildly variable from what I hear.  
 
Financial burdens are a non-issue in this house as my husband continues to do his job from home and get paid and I don't work. BUT it's a pain having everyone home because the whole house has to isolate pending results, although I understand and agree with why that is.  
 
But I can absolutely understand why people would be hesitant to get tested due to isolation requirements. It's unfortunate that circumstances force people to make that choice. It shouldn't be a luxury to make health choices vs. financial ones.

All of my tests have been done at ACC.  
 
1wrangler when was that done if you don’t mind me asking? I guess I was being optimistic based on my last couple tests over the year.  
 
The worrier in me thinks maybe they’ve lost my test and I’ll be sitting here for a few more days before they will look into it. I called today and they said my results were still pending and I’d have to wait int after the 7 days to escalate. I also assume that if it is positive they wouldn’t have told me it’s still pending.  
 
If it takes 3-4 + days to notify someone that they are positive-that would be a very broken system.

I'm just curious as to why most people are being tested 3 or more times. Is it because you'd had symptoms or been in situations where someone close may have been positive or some other reason? Possibly all heath care workers?

Many people I know have been tested multiple times. The symptoms are quite common for any cold/flu and it is recommended to get tested if you have any symptoms. You cannot attend school or work if you have any of the symptoms.

@DEC i’ve been tested twice, one was mandatory before my c section. The second time was due to a household member testing positive.

I was tested about a month ago. I went to the drive thru site at ACC and everyone there was excellent. It was quick and easy. I went on Saturday morning and had my negative result back online by Monday at noon.

Where is the drive thru at ACC?

The ACC testing site is off 17th St East, on I believe Van Horne Ave, at the back of the college. There are signs showing where to turn and where to enter the building. You drive in one door, stay in your vehicle for the test, and then exit through another door.

They are infact posted online. I know of a couple who tested positive and both had their results online a few hours prior to them being contacted by phone.  
 
Before that I was under same impression as you that only negative results showed online.

I've been tested 3 times because I've had 3 illnesses with symptoms consistent with Covid. Others in my household have been tested on 1-2 times, depending on the person.  
 
As someone else said, once illness enters the house no one can go to work/school until you've either confirmed it's not Covid (and symptoms have resolved) or you've waited out the mandatory isolation period. We have 5 kids (4 of them in school) and 2 adults, so things can and do come into the house even with the precautions. My kids have missed a solid 2+ weeks of school due to illness/testing/isolation protocols so far this year.

It’s always due to symptoms in our household. Everything is at a stand still until you (or whoever in the household) can get your (hopefully) negative results and symptoms clear up which thankfully for us is quicker than quarantining for the required time. No one can go to school, no one can go to work until we can make sure we are covid free.
