PRAIRIE MOUNTAIN HEALTH REGION:
Reported new cases: 32
Total cases on dashboard: 2849 (+31)
Active cases on dashboard: 398 (+14)
Recoveries on dashboard: 2390 (+17)
Deaths: 61 (no change)
Active Hospitalizations: 14 (+1)
ICU Active patients: 3 (-1)

The active case count in PMH of 398 is highest total on the dashboard since the beginning of the pandemic.

Of active cases in PMH, after 89 in Brandon the next-highest is Porcupine Mountain at 76 and Aggasiz Mountain at 69.

By age and gender, below are the differences in PMH cases compared to the last update:
80-89: +1 female
70-79: +1 female, +2 male
50-59: +1 female
40-49: +1 female, +2 male
30-39: +5 female, +1 male
20-29: +2 female, +2 male
10-19: +4 female, +2 male
0-9: +3 female, +4 male

In Manitoba as a whole, the province is reporting 502 new cases of COVID-19 and a five day test positivity rate of 9.6% in Manitoba. Today’s data has 41.6% of the adult population now having received at least one vaccine shot.

Again, provincial announcement at 6pm on new restrictions that are to come in place immediately.

New Restrictions

The following additional public health order restrictions will be in effect on Sunday, May 9 at 12:01 a.m. for a period of three weeks:

• outdoor gatherings that i:nclude people from multiple households are limited to a maximum of five people:
• restaurants, bars and patios will close to in-person dining but can still provide take-out and delivery services:
• gyms and fitness centres will close:
• casinos remain closed and VLTs will close:
• museums, galleries and libraries will close:
• indoor community, cultural and religious gatherings are prohibited:
• personal services such as estheticians, barbers, salons and tanning salons will close:
• indoor sports and recreation, including after-school activities, will close:
• outdoor sports and recreation activities will have a maximum of five participants and organized team games will not be permitted:
• dance, theatre and music schools will close:
• day camps will close:
• retail stores, markets and garden centres will be able to open at 10 per cent capacity, to a maximum of 100 people, and malls will be open to a maximum of 10 per cent of the facility’s capacity: and
• self-help gatherings will have a maximum of 10 participants.

As a reminder to people: ONLY THE CAPACITY IS CHANGING FOR GROCERY STORES, YOU DO NOT NEED TO MOB THE STORES TODAY LIKE YOU'RE GOING TO BE LOCKED IN A CELL FOR 3 MONTHS

Also, have some common courtesy and don't hoard TP, bread, etc to the point where other people are left with nothing.

Everyone I know who has booked an appointment the last few days have been able to get a spot within 1-2 weeks.

In Manitoba as a whole, the province is reporting 532 new cases of COVID-19 and a five day test positivity rate of 10.9% in Manitoba.

Today’s data has 44.0% of the adult population now having received at least one vaccine shot. That’s 1.3% since yesterday’s update, the second-straight day that the increase has been more than 1% (yesterday was 1.1%).

I havent been posting individual school cases, but alongside the announcement today I thought it important to point out that the BSD website over the weekend has new cases reported at each of Green Acres, Maryland Park and Riverheights school. This on top of the seven Brandon schools showing on the provincial map as having had cases in the trailing two weeks.

The province has confirmed that age eligibility has dropped to all adults 18+ regardless of where they live.

Second doses will start to be booked May 22 for priority groups, then in order based on when 1st dose received.

Teens starting soon, hope to have completed 1st dose by June 9.

Again, this starts with people with serious health issues and the immunocompromised.
