<:p>:When will priority 1&2 People on the health list get a vaccine. The people that are on these lists have medical issues that if they get covid could have serious outcomes. I am getting a little stressed when I see other people getting the shot while I am trying to keep my young adult child safe. My child is younger then 40 so the astrazeneca is not an option.<:/p>:<>:

our Premiere doesn't think people with preexisting health conditions are a priority so it is just a matter of waiting like everyone else. I have no doubt these decisions will resonate with him after he is voted out of office next election.

You should be asking your doctor about getting your child the vaccine. Lots of people in same situation .  
I am hoping that now that it states all persons over 40 can get AZ and over 50 can get Pfizer at super cites that they will start using super cites for 40 and under.  
It is due to lack of vaccines at this time but we are suppose to be getting more vaccines from Federal government in next couple weeks,so the age eligibility will drop faster.  
In meantime follow protocol and keep safe.  
 
Gussies it is not the premier who makes these decisions on vaccines it is the committee of health professionals and they are doing their best.  
No matter who they qualify for vaccines people will always complain that it should be done another way.  
It seems There is no pleasing anyone when it comes to getting vaccines, we all want the vaccine as soon as possible but this isn’t a perfect world and it is our first pandemic we just have to be patient. We are in a lot better place then many provinces. Let’s just be thankful we live in Manitoba !

I'm sorry that your child is not yet eligible for a vaccine. But let's face it, police, fire and first responders just got in line. And those folks are in direct contact with the public and more than likely in the worst circumstances. I'm not putting down your situation, but somebody has to come in second, third fourth and last in this race. I can't imagine the worry that you have for your child's health and wellbeing, but he/she is still safe and has been kept safe for over a year. So whatever you're doing, keep doing it and have a little faith in the system. Your child's turn will come.

So far they only have AZ for pharmacies and Drs, there was talk about getting Moderna into the clinics and Drs office but unfortunately Moderna vaccines keep getting back ordered by the company. Hopefully it’s an option soon.

My adult child is also on the Priority One list but cannot get the vaccine. She is ten times more likely to die from Covid than the average person. It is so frustrating.

I am 45 with an autoimmune disease among other health conditions and medications that weaken my immune system. I have been told I absolutely need the vaccine as I could have bad outcome if I get COVID. However I have been advised by my family Dr and my specialist to not get the AstraZeneca and to wait until I am eligible for the Pfizer.  
So with the new eligibility rules I am likely going to be pushed to the back of the line as they will likely not be dropping the age for the Pfizer one as quickly now.  
Not to mention I care for an elderly parent who is on home oxygen, with a broke back and can not get to a super site to receive the shot either.

Your probably right about being pushed to the back, and I'm guessing within 1 month they are going to just drop age limit altogether and go the way of u.s and just open up to anyone 18+. Making it that much more difficult.

Nice to see some folks being moved up the priority list to receive their vaccinations. Makes one wonder why truckers, you know, those people who travel throughout this vast country and the lower 48 states to bring you back amongst other items food that you require, were not included on a priority list from early on. Do you know how many trucks cross daily into the lower 48. More than 30,000 trucks cross daily nationwide. I am sure that I have read that the province of New Brunswick is one of, or perhaps the only province that provides vaccines to truckers on a priority basis. What is wrong with you Manitoba? Even North Dakota has offered to vaccinate Canadian truckers who travel to that state.

While you make a valid point about the vulnerability of truckers, the current situation is that we don't have enough vaccines, but the US are having a hard time finding enough people to administer theirs to. This is especially prelevent in Republican-leaning states.

Also, Saskatchewan may have a similar arrangement with North Dakota in the near future.
