    Does anyone know for sure if a doctor can legally charge me $50 for my medical file

    I believe doctors can charge you for anything they can't bill to MB Health. That i:ncludes things like sick notes, filling out forms for employment(not otherwise covered by MB Health, WCB, MPI etc) and transferring files.

    probably can, however your medical history is worth way more than 50 bucks

    what I was told if you want copies of your file like test results like blood work, or results from a scan etc you are legally entitled to those, and a doctor can't refuse giving them to you if you ask. I don't know if they can charge you or not, but I just ask for print outs of the papers I want.

    It is the paper ink and the file clerks time that you are paying not the dr. He just sends in the request

    Guess makes sense..thought was all on computer as that's how they get them to my doctor from hospital or clinic and that's how they show me my xrays and test results. Just thought all they had to do was bring up my file on screen and emails it to whomever
