So now that Pfizer shipments are slowing down, how do I get my teenager in for her 2nd shot? Online, there is no option to book an appointment at all for a Pfizer in Brandon.  
 
What are others doing? Just waiting?

There was a news article a couple days ago that said apppintments for 12-17 are being put on hold due to the shortage of Pfizer vaccine. As well, current bulletins refer to the fact that youth under 18 cannot have any vaccine except Pfizer, so that means that the youth have to wait for a new supply. Sounds like they expect more Pfizer vaccine in late July.

I had a friend who was able to get their child in at a different site, but not for at least 3 weeks. They said they booked Pfizer. Will that child still get the Pfizer or will they be wasting their time and end of with an offer of Moderna?

You can keep checking for cancellations and you might get lucky. Alot of people have been taking advantage of the walk ins to get doses earlier. If you have an appointment booked for yourself you can transfer it to your child and get Moderna yourself. I know several families who have done that and a few who have lucked into cancellation spots. Hopefully it won't last too long.

Got 2nd in Brandon 12 week wait between our eligibility between vaccines.  
 
What was also suggested is phoning and keep checking for Pfizer appointments as some may cancel and get Moderna much earlier . 1-844-626-8222  
You can have a fairly long wait period between 1and 2 so Pfizer vaccines 12 weeks or so and they will be coming in next couple weeks just not as many as promised .

They can't give them another vaccine as they are not approved. If they booked for Pfizer it will be Pfizer and if they can't provide that they will cancel or reschedule the appointment.

and they let me give up my pfizer appointment to him and I booked myself a moderna

where you still able to get in with your son or did you have to rebook for another time? I am thinking about doing this but I would rather keep my time and date but just get the moderna instead and give my child the pfizer

They couldn't squeeze me in. They did say that they had done with other similar situations. Just not the day & time I had booked.

My husband and I gave the kids our Pfizer appointments and then we booked ourselves in with Moderna. Today I was able to cancel my July Moderna appointment and get in next week. You might want to see if they have sooner appointments opened up

My 17 yr old just booked her second one in Morden.  
Pfizer is the only approved vaccine for 12-17. I imagine that has a lot to do with the sudden low availability since every 12-17 year old can only get pfizer.

Can someone that gave their appointments to their kids explain how and where they called. I tried calling the main number today to give my kids our appointments for Pfizer and to book Moderna for us and they wouldn’t do it.

It has to be done by phoning in ,if you get someone who says you can’t do it ask for their supervisor. The person who answers may not be aware of the change yet.

Just call 1-844-626-8222 but make sure the timing is right. They need to have had their first shot by June 6. First time I tried timing wasn’t right. I would try again otherwise
