    Covid disinfecting house/home ?

    What did you do to disinfect home after family had covid did you wipe down everything with what ? any info would be great .Family member in hospital right now no one at home would it be safe for me to go and disinfect if have protection I have not had any contact with member

    How long are the expected to be in hospital. Covid can live up to 9 days on some surfaces but most are less then 5 . So if you could wait 5 days if no one will be in there prior would be best. And any cleaning product with 70-90% alcohol content is recommended or 50-1 mix with 5% household bleach and water.

    I would go with 100 proof alcohol. The alcohol dissipates and it is food safe so if rinsing was missed it wouldn't be a toxin in a person's system, just wear a mask when spraying. Also, bleach is pretty destructive on some surfaces and you would have to make sure to rinse.

    Alcohol is not better at disinfecting at higher levels-multiple sources will tell you that 70% is the best.

    Would spraying and wiping everything down with Lysol be beneficial? Also washing bedding. Our whole family has it right now and when we can get energy I figure we better clean.

    That was supposed to be 100%. Or 90%-whichever, either way 70% is still better for disinfecting than a higher percentage is.

    If the person lives alone, there would be no need to disinfect their home before they returned from hospital.
