As of July 4, 2023 the Walk-In at the Brandon Clinic will no longer be open to the general public due to Family Physician shortages.  
 
I know this is becoming a pretty big problem Canada wide with family physician shortages but for the second largest city in Manitoba to completely lose walk-in services at one of our few clinics seems pretty extreme.  
 
The few clinics left in Brandon that offer walk-ins, will now have to deal with those influx of patients which in turn will add more stress to those clinics and create much longer wait times to see a doctor.  
 
I’ve heard Western Medical Clinic is already experiencing some pretty long wait times if you have to go to their walk-in, how much worse will things become now?  
 
Are other clinics at risk of getting rid of their walk-in services too? Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a family doctor and it seems to be getting harder and harder to find one.

The only other clinic is Dr Benning’s. He is the only one that is also operating on the weekends.

Newmount Medical Clinic (624 18th St.) Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday: Noon to 4 p.m.  
 
Wheat City Medical Clinic & Pharmacy (C1-1711 Kirkcaldy Dr.) Monday to Thursday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  
 
Trinity Medical Clinic Brandon (#2, 335 18th St.) Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  
 
Rosser Medical Clinic (841 Rosser Ave.) Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  
 
Western Medical Clinic (2425 Victoria Ave.)  
Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  
 
Also one in Shilo

I am sorry I made a mistake.

We all make mistakes. :o)  
 
Doesn't change the fact that those of us who need an actual GP are going to have an even harder time finding one. Hopefully the remaining walk-in clinics can pick up the slack. Hopefully.

Definitely not. Brand new building on Victoria Ave, 13 docs on their 'physicians' page on their website. Maybe you're thinking of their old downtown location before the move?

You are probably thinking of Brandon Clinic West. They closed over a year ago. Western Medical is still open - 5 days a week

For people who are already a patient with Brandon Clinic, it will not affect them. They will have access to same day appointments with “walk in” doctor either virtually or in person. They can also call and make an appointment to see their own doctor

Would this apply to a person like me who has been a long term patient of a Doctor who is leaving?  
 
My Doctors receptionist told me I would not be allocated to another Doctor and they were not keeping a waiting list.
