In the recent weeks I have received the worst help with mental help in Brandon. From my mental health counselor not showing up for my appointment (the office said they were there) with no contact of canceling or rescheduling (even 2 weeks later no call I don't have her number and they don't make thier appointments) to the the help line telling me to suck it up. With this kind of help I am lucky to be typing this today

If you are trying to access mental health assistance from the 7th St Access Centre.....good luck....have a family member trying to get help from there and it is a gong show.....a constant game of telephone tag....working on the process to file complaints to the powers that be currently....

I know it’s not free, but there’s a few places that have a sliding scale. I believe Fosters and The Counselling Centre and there may be a few others. You can also search on Psychology Today for practitioners that offer a sliding scale. I’m sorry you’ve had such a terrible experience so far. It’s really not ok to treat people who are in need of help that way and totally unprofessional.

While probably not what you're looking for, try the Canadian-run group Not Alone Anymore. I help run it.
