What are the guidelines...

If there was a patient in the ICU section of the hospital and had to go to the bathroom - what should the nurse or aid do in this case?
Would it be proper and professional in your eyes for the professional on duty to suggest just going and they would clean it up afterwards?(just going as in - in the bed)
Or would it make too much sense to help the patient to the bathroom facility for relief?
What's your opinion on this scenerio?
