MSG: Everywhere now? Monosodium Glutamate

Is it just me or is this stuff showing up in a lot of snacks these days? Chips are no surprise (especially the "enhanced Flavor" type), but even some flavored crackers and beef jerky have it. I've read labels pretty much my entire life and for the most part had no idea what I was reading, but I could swear Ketchup chips did not have MSG 10 years ago and now they do.
I know a lot of people think that these snacks are clearly bad for you anyways, so why worry about one more ingredient. MSG is bigger than that. Evidence is mounting that it damages the Hypothalamus portion of the brain and consequences of that damage are Leptin resistance (Leptin regulates how much you feel like eating).
Now imagine an entire generation of children growing up injesting a chemical regularly or as a reward in snacks, that will damage appetite regulation. Obesity epidemic anyone? Even if you've ever sat down to devour an entire bag of chips without feeling satisfied it could be evidence of some MSG poisoning. Don't get me wrong, we have free will, but you drink alcohol and it might make you tipsy, have MSG, you might not be satisfied with your meal.
Anyone else with some warning foods that contain unexpected MSG?
